I want to use Permagloss on a rod I'm building for my wife. I have tested it on the decals I want to use and it did not seem to effect the decal. Here's the question, do I need to put a layer on the blank before putting the decals on? And how many coats on the thread wraps to make them look good? Re: Permagloss Question

Not necessarily. You can apply the decal directly to the blank if you like.
It will take at least 3 to 4 coats on the thread before it begins to build any depth whatsoever. However, it will never give the same appearance as epoxy, if that's what you're going for. ................. Re: Permagloss Question

Perma gloss is best used on size A thread and multipul coats are required for a quality finish. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
