Permagloss Question

I want to use Permagloss on a rod I'm building for my wife. I have tested it on the decals I want to use and it did not seem to effect the decal. Here's the question, do I need to put a layer on the blank before putting the decals on? And how many coats on the thread wraps to make them look good?

Not necessarily. You can apply the decal directly to the blank if you like.

It will take at least 3 to 4 coats on the thread before it begins to build any depth whatsoever. However, it will never give the same appearance as epoxy, if that's what you're going for.

Perma gloss is best used on size A thread and multipul coats are required for a quality finish.
