That looks like a Photoshop file or a filter - we have never seen any cork rings with that strong of a color. As mentioned above - you can not dye the cork itself, it is the material which binds chopped the cork which is died. If you use a lot of binder with sliced cork you get a stronger color like these rings:

Since it is the actual cork which has changed color (from heat upto it's burning point) we can combine that normal cork (without filler) to get more interesting combination of light and dark cork.
