I'm getting back into rod building and will be going to the expo. I built about a dozen rods back in the early 80's and haven't done anything for about 20 years. From what I see much has changed since then. Any suggestions on what to look for and pick up at the expo. Any help or suggestions on what you think is a good economical manual rod wrapper and drying machine would be appreciated. Thanks Re: Expo suggestions for new rod builder needed

Hi Dave,
You will love being at the EXPO and visiting all the booths. Ask many questions at the booths. I used a Pac Bay RodSmith lathe hard for 5 years. It performed!!! And the price is reasonable. You can wrap a rod and then move a belt/flip a switch and you have a drying machine. Tackle shops have been using this model for many years. Be sure to visit the decal Connection booth and talk with Debbie and Chuck about their decals. I have used them for many years. Be sure to talk with the folks who make the U-40 products, especially the ROD Bond epoxy and their finishes. Visit every booth and check out their products. You will find many new blank products. Ask each company which of their series and models would work best for the species/areas that you will be building rods for. Be sure to talk with the RODGeeks people. Very nice blanks for reasonable prices. Say hello to BOB for me. Enjoy the Show. Capt Neil Faulkner Re: Expo suggestions for new rod builder needed
