Hi all. I have a spool of Prowrap Nylon RNS-A 701 and can't remember if it needs colour preserver. The Prowrap adds/information don't specify.
Does anyone know if it needs CP? I remember using a similar thread as a subtle trim band but when i put on the epoxy it darkened considerably (that thread obviously needed CP). I'd rather not make the same mistake. thanks Tom. Re: Prowrap Nylon: does it need colour preserver?

Unless it reads Colorfast it is regular nylon and IF you want to keep the color it will have to have CP
I put CP thinned on NCP thread just to help keep the color and to soak in the thread to get rid of air AND bubbles Bill - willierods.com Re: Prowrap Nylon: does it need colour preserver?

Hello Tom.
The RNS-A-701 stands for: R=regular N=nylon S=100 yard spool, A=.006 dia. thread & 701=rattan brown color. Hope this helps. Tight Wraps & Tighter Lines. Bob, New Bern, NC. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
