"Blended" chevron

I have seen a few photos of chevron wraps that appear to blend from one color to the other. I am curious if anyone has a method to accomplish this. My thought is to start with the new color and start wrapping one old, one new, one old two new, etc for about 4 or five wraps then start the new color all on its own. I haven't tried this approach, so before I do I wanted some advice from the experts.

Thanks.

John

That's pretty much how you do it. We've covered it in early issues of RodMaker.

To go from say, dark blue to light blue, you might wrap 5 dk and 1 light. Then 4 dk and 2 light. Then 3 dk and 3 light, then 2 dk and 4 light, 1 dk and 5 light. To go into another shade you'd start there and perform the same sequence with the light blue and the next color.

google "fade wrap rod building"
first image is a pattern
I keep track of it on a graph sheet so I don't lose track.

It is also in Rodmaker in one of the past issues, in Billy Vivona's book, probably lots of other places also

Many thanks.

I see many references to past issues of RodMaker. Two questions, one is there any way to get past issues, and if so is there a list of past issue contents? Two, how can I subscribe to RodBuilder?

Thanks.

John
