Has anyone used any of these blanks?
Kind of pricey for panfish fish but, I like the idea of 7'1" or 7'7" extra fast. Guides? Thinking of using single foot fly guides, treating like an ice fishing rod. Going to use Tennessee carbon fiber handle. Any feedback would be great. See you on the water, Doug Captain Paddlefoot Re: Phenix Iron Feather?

I haven't, but would agree that a longer rod is a lot more fun in an ultralight. It gives the fish more leverage against you. Makes them feel a lot larger than they often are. I'd also stick with a fast to extra fast blank.

Just make sure it can load and throw the lure you use All blanks are labeled with lure weight if you are using this for really light lures it may be too stiff and you may have to add weight for the blank to Load Bill - willierods.com Re: Phenix Iron Feather?

I don't have the iron feather but I do have the elixir 7'6 rod and it's an amazing rod! Makes fishing pannies super enjoyable! And an extremely light blank also. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
