Has anyone tried this one step finish? I have seen it for a while and thought I'd give it a try. I have a Tenkara that has a simple chevron wrap and I want to try it out.

So, if anyone has tried it can you pass on your experience?

Thanks.

John

If you want to use this type of product, don't use it indoor (because the fumes).
Better to use it outdoor and wear a good respirator.

the pluses. super clear, no mixing, fast drying, light weight
the negatives it's thin so it will take several coats, short pot time, then there are the fumes
this stuff and it's cousin Perma gloss will kill off a few brain cells if you don't have good ventilation. If i use it, just bought a new bottle yesterday, I move my dryer out to the back porch and open a few windows.
The results however are a really nice finish. gives it that classy old school look

If you have a problem with Lumiseal (or U 40) evaporating, there are a couple of options.
You can store it upside-down, but be sure to check for leakage, as it is so thin.
Or, you can cut a piece of thin neoprene to fit inside the cap to compress & seal.
I do both now.
I lost my 1st 2 bottles of U 40 to evaporation in very short order.
Necessity was the mother of invention.
