Scott Throop's Tiger Wrap

Still trying to wrap my head around how the tiger wrap works. I have the RM that featured Scott's Tiger Wraps. In the photo there are 6 wraps. I would like to know what threads were used for the base wrap and the outer wrap for each of the wraps pictured. I'm not trying to copy but I just can't seem to get mine to look anything like Scott's. And his wraps are the best. Help please.

Are you looking at the cover shot of that issue?

The wraps on the cover weren't done by Scott. I did those, #'s 1, 2, 4, 5 & 6. Bill Colby did #3.

The ones I did were wrapped this way:

1. Blk and yellow under, chestnut brown on top.

2. Blk and white under, red on top.

4. Blk and white under, goldmetal on top.

5. Blk and yellow under, green on top.

6. Blk and yellow under, garnet on top.

The one Bill did (#2) may have been a single blk and white varigated thread as the base, otherwise it is is blk and white under, blue on top. Although that one might have been a blue and gold varigated on top. He had some kind of 3rd element in his version but I don't remember what it was.

The wraps featured in that issue's Photo Gallery were Scott's and I think they were blk and white under, and light blue on top. The bottom might also have been blk and light blue. I can't remember if I asked or if he told me.

Then to you Mr. Kirkman - great work, splendid color choice. Hope someday mine will turn out that good. And ditto to you Bill.
