Finish question.

Good evening folks! I'm currently working on two rods I applied finish to one of them about 20 mins ago how long or rather how soon can I turn the rod dryer off and slap the other rod in there to apply finish to it!?..... I know it will take pretty much a day to fully cure but how long until it no longer will run or cure uneven?

Side note how do you take care of a couple of small scratches in the rod? Less then an 1/8th inch long?

every one will do it a little different , but still the same , what I do is take a little left over epoxy an drop a drop or 2 on a spot not on the rod
an test the drops to see if it is hard so I can move the rod off the dryer , but to answer the question what is the correct time for the rod to be on the dryer , the ratio on epoxy an harder as well as the temp you are working at will effect the time on the dryer, so I touch my drops to see if they are hard an if they are hard I move it, an stand in the corner to finish drying a little long but no finger prints in the finish
