Put Plastikote white on an old solid glass rod on a redo for a friend. I tried to put urethane over the paint but it started to dissolve and looks awful. I've got to sand the blank again and repaint. What did I do wrong with the urethane and what do I have to do right this time? Re: Rod paint

Depends on the urethane you used. You should probably try one that is water based if you're going to stick with that type paint. Some urethanes may have solvents in them that are too "hot" for some paints to withstand.

Thanks Tom, any recommendations about the water-based product? Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
