You can use a cheap, pre-formed cork grip instead of hard-core foam. Dirt cheap, lightweight and readily available. Just cover the cork with a thin layer of 5-minute epoxy, slip the carbon-fiber over the grip use a twist-tie to secure the ends. Wait 10 minutes, then finish however you'd like.

Neither Andy nor myself filed for a patent. Anyone is free to make and sell these, but as I have said before, they are very labor intensive to make.

What are the advantages / disadvantages of the different foam densities? Can 6# be made by mixing 4# & 8#?

The denser foam is just that - denser, but it weighs more. Somewhere around 6 to maybe 8 will give you good rigidity for the weight involved.

Mike - you can get 6# mix/pour from Mike or from fibreglast. Mixing the 4 and 8# is a hassle, but I think the 6# is perfect for most applications.

I have ordered several handles and foregrips from Capt Mike over the last couple of years. Getting the first one took about 2 months because I ordered during his prime charter season. We had a conversation about it and he told me he fishes about 6 months and
sells handles/cores for 6 mos. I was about to place a large order (large for me at 20 handles) based on clients that think they are fantastic. With all this email traffic, I have to rethink this because I dont know when I would get my goods and my clients want the rods
in the next 2 months!!!! I cant tell them I might have them before Christmas and I might not!!!
