Hello I just ordered a Sling Shot SS1505-5 Blank 12' 6" Line Rating 10 -30 . This is my first time for a surf rod build. I will have someone to assemble it but I will order the guides and reel seat. The reel I will be using is a Daiwa 7ht mag supertune with a QTC frame and QTC mono mag side plate. I using the 5 pc blank so I can take it with me when I travel. I spent alot already so money is not a problem. Finding a travel rod for a casting reel over 10ft long is almost impossible in the United States. What I need is the size and type of guides I will need to finish the rod. I have done the research for a swimbait blank I am working on but a surf rod it another story. So I would like some ideas to help me along.

What size line will you be throwing? How much lure weight? Shock leader?

I would use the american tackle virtus lites. 20mm for stripper 16mm,12mm,10mm for runners. this works very well with the reel you mentioned

I have used Fuji K frame Alconite guides on a similar build.

I think you both are confused I am building a rod using a bait casting reel not a spinning reel. K guides are for spinning reels. All the ones I have looked at are for spinning reels

Ok I see some of the k guides work. This gets confusing when selecting guides
