Fly rod tip top glue?

I recently completed an ultra-light fly rod build where the tip top has come loose after limited use. I have the rod back and need to reinstall the tip top. I originally used the hot melt glue stick to secure the tip top but would like to possibly use some other type of adhesive to make sure the tip top does not come loose again. the OD of the ultra light rod tip is very small and so is the ID of the tip top so the surface area for adhesion is limited. Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Check out Flex Coats glue
Or a thin coat of 5 min With 5 min it may be difficult to get off if you ever have to

Mike,

I live in CA and 'have had trouble with loose tip tops when using hot melt. Years ago I switched to 5 min. epoxy and have not had any trouble since. 5 min. epoxy will solve your problem. Just make sure you clean all of the hot melt glue out of the tip and reinstall with epoxy. It will be there to stay.

Make sure that you're actually getting some hot melt down into the tiptop tube. If you simply smear the stuff on the rod tip and then heat and push the tiptop on, almost all of the glue simply gets pushed down the rod blank. I like to smear a dab on the tiptop tube opening, then heat that and push the tiptop on the blank tip. That ensures that glue gets pushed down into the tube.

I also turn my tops around the blank several times to make sure all is coated
