Electronic foot switches?

I stumbled across a couple youtube videos where an electronic foot pedal was used as a replacement for a mechanical one on old sewing machines. The added control seems awesome. Has anyone upgraded their foot pedal for finer control? Anything i would need to be aware of when purchasing one? Re: Electronic foot switches?

Adam I had my Clemens lathe converted to DC it gives me good speed and foward and reverse. I have a 13 ft bed with a 8ft floor pedal

Adam,
Unfortunately, linemaster no longer makes their excellent AC/DC universal electronic speed control However, fordham makes a very similar electronic foot speed control that works nearly as well. [www.foredom.net] Re: Electronic foot switches?
