3rd coat, signature area, need to scuff?

I put my last, and what I thought would be my final coat of finish on my rod this past Wednesday. This morning I noticed a small dimple in one area and a high area near the corner of my decal.
1.) Do I need to scuff before I do touch-up today? 2.) Should I do the entire signature area? Thanks Re: 3rd coat, signature area, need to scuff?

Bruce,
I have fought this problem myself. I don't know what epoxy you are using; but you might scuff the high spots and then try thinning the epoxy just a little to get it to flow better. Add just 2-3 drops of acetone to a couple of cc of epoxy. This should help. Don Campbell don@sensorfishingrods.com Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/25/2015 11:14AM by Donald R Campbell. The only problem you would possibly run into is that once epoxy reaches a certain state of cure, it can tend to repel subsequent coats. It won't hurt you to spin the rod and lightly hold a piece of fine Scotchbrite against the area for a few seconds. Just enough to knock the shine off.
