I have a few off-the-shelf rods I really like, curious how I go about determining the blanks used. Would they even be readily available? BPS, Berkley, Shimano, etc. Re: Possible to determine rod blank of commercial rods?

No, most are sourced by those companies and in many cases are proprietary models not offered by any blank manufacturers to individual builders.

With Lamiglas and Fenwick, they published information that would let you find out what blank was used for a specific rod. Most other companies did not do this. Too bad. They should have if they sold blanks. Re: Possible to determine rod blank of commercial rods?

Fenwick rods are not built on blanks that are available to the public. It's been 20+ years since Fenwick actually made rod blanks. Randy is talking about a time, long, long ago.

You can find that type of information from Lamiglass. They offer some pretty nice stuff that really doesn't get any of the hype that many others do. You can also find it from St. Croix and Rogue as well.

If you have older Fenwick or Lamiglas blanks fro the 70's or 80's, I may be able to give you the info on them. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
