Hello,
I'm from Australia and am trying to contact Renzetti.

I've lost the drive belt for my rod lathe and require a new one.

I can register at Renzetti.com for purchases but when I go to checkout there are no payment or shipping options and the sale stops.

I have filled the form in on their website twice as well as emailed mail@renzetti.com but so far haven't received a reply.

If someone here has a better email address that would be great otherwise I will need to phone them, no big deal just the east coast of Australia is 14 hours ahead of Florida time.

9am on Thursday in Florida will be 11pm on Thursday here.

The drive belt is made by Gates -- do a search here for the part number -- you made be able purchase one locally.

In the past I have contact renzetti, but never have the reply. Seems renzetti need to improve their customer service...

G'Day Geoff Renzetti have a heap of dealers in OZ .If you go to their web page & enter the state you live in .You will be presented with a list of dealers in you state . If it was me I'd be going to the closest to home armed with the broken belt . I reckon it will cost more if you can source locally but you will save in time .

This is off topic could you tell me what sort of trouble you went through to import it .I've been toying of buying another wrapper .At the moment I have a Alps & I'm looking to upgrade .I guess is it worth the costs involved over the Alps

As Tom indicated, the drive belt is made by gates. The length of the belt is measured in MM. Carefully check on the belt and see if you can make out the number that is stamped on the outside of the belt.

I did some motor modifications to some Renzetti's and needed a longer belt.

I used the 3m315 polyflex belt.

This is the correct 315 mm belt that I needed for the different motor setup that I had made. I believe that the stock belt is about 10 inches long or 254 mm. However, you need to verify that length to be positive. The belt is a polyflex belt that is 1/8th inch wide across the top and of the necessary length.

Hello Baz,
Great to see another Aussie on here!

I spoke to the Australian Renzetti importers, they don't have anything to do with the lathes.
Apparently the cost of the units plus freight from the US kills the sales.

I didn't import the Renzetti, I bought it off the bloke who did.

It appeared on an online @#$%& site a month or so back, I bid on it and won.
Simple as that.

It has never been used, still has the grease/oil stains on it from the original packaging.
The motor still has the bare wires and has never been hooked to the pedal.
It came with 4 bed pieces, 4 support rollers, Wonder Weaver, plenty of DVD's and some software.
I'm very happy with my purchase.

Unfortunately somewhere in the trip from Hervey Bay to Newcastle I lost the drive belt.
Silly mistake but hey, that's what makes the world go round.
So I need a new belt!

Thanks Roger for the great information, unfortunately my problem is I've lost the original belt.

Forgot to add into the above, I received an email on Friday morning Australian time from Renzetti with regard to supplying the belts.

Just waiting for a second response to seal the deal.

G'day Geoff There's a few of us on here unfortunately most don't post these days .It was a bit of luck that I picked up on your post ,I was replying to a mate in Marylborough who is also a rod builder & I happened across your post .I guess that I will give the Renzetti a miss .I suspected that the freight costs would be horrendous .& then the added costs of replacing the motors & probably the foot pedal also . So I guess that I will give the alps a clean up & pretend that it's new

The bloke I bought it off was very coy about what he paid.
I suspect it was a lot more than what I gave him to relocate it.

The 120 Volt motor and foot pedal aren't an issue.
Jaycar Electronics do a suitable "out of the box" transformer for about AU$70.00
Way cheaper and easier than trying to source a 240 Volt motor and pedal.

I just spent AU$6.00 on the same online @#$%& site and bought 4 x American electrical plugs and sockets to join up the whole show!
Being a leco' by trade also helps on this sort of stuff.

Thanks, I found a couple around that mark but the US$60.00 freight to Australia is the killer!

Gates Australia don't import them as they are too small for their range.

As for Renzetti, they make good gear but their support @#$%&.

Two more emails and a phone call to them, still no response.

Nobody answered the phone just an answering machine and leave a message.
Message is as good as an email, no response.
