Jim Ising, does Fuji not make any gold plated guides any more? I need a top for a boat rod, size 14 to go with a set of guides that Mr Ohmura sent me as a gift years ago. if not in gold I could use one in gunsmoke. same size. The gunsmoke are in the '83 catalog listed as USG. This catalog does not have the listing for the gold. When he sent them to me I don't think they were on the market yet. Any help would be appreciated. I am building a rod on a proto-type blank that Dick Posey of Lamiglas sent me years ago. Thanks, Randy

Randy I have not seen a gold guide since I arrived years ago, but that doesn't mean there's not one stashed away around here somewhere. Can you send me an exact model number. I'll check around.

Hello Randy.

I "Think" Fuji quit making guides in gold but Pac Bay Still does, however the tops stop with an 8 ring, with a 10/64th tube, Jann's has them.
MudHole has them to a size 6.5 tube in 6-7 & 8 ring sizes.
They are listed as GPHT they are Hialoy rings.

You may yet to find them elsewhere, Good Luck.

Thanks Bob, I decided to go with a gold Mildrum roller top. It will be a good match for the gold Fuji boat guides. I wonder why Fuji quit making gold guides though. I am making a nice live bait rod on a GLB 72 1H blank. 30 to 50 # test line. Should work great. Blue flocked cork grips and an Aftco black barreled reel seat with gold hoods and rings. All I need now is a proper butt cap to go with the set up. Thanks for your response. Randy

Hello Randy.

For the butt cap you might want to look at the American Tackle ATG, they have 4 ID's, AFTCO has 3 ID's + 2 radiused then there is a unique butt, the PBAF2-G.

Lots of ways to go!

Thanks Bob, I will check them out. Since I pre-formed and flocked the grip, I need to find a butt cap with a specific OD. I am not concerned about the ID as long as it is .5" or larger An OD of 1 1/8' would be perfect.
