I use a quill pen and either india ink or Testor's model paint. It works very well. If you use the paint, be sure to clean the pen frequently with pint thinner or the paint will plug up the fine quill line running down the middle of the quill and then you need to replace the quill.

Speed Ball is making a new water based ink that is working very well.

They also make a line of markers that come in various colors that MAY work for you as well. Try one and see if it works out for you. The new speed ball acrylic ink works very well and is not touched by finish, so you can apply finish directly over the dried ink with no issue.

Try Bombay India Ink, comes in a lot of colors including white. I've only used the white, but it is very nice, low viscosity, moves through the nibs very well, is opaque, looks great on dark colors, and after drying will take epoxy without smearing.. If you use the colors please report on your observations.

I use FW acrylic artist ink and a quill pen. It flows great and they have every color on the chart!

I use a quill pen and Dr. Ph. Martin's Iridescent Calligraphy colors. I think there are 24 colors. This stuff actually glows when the light hits it. Thin and clean up with alcohol. No need for CP. My hands have gotten to the point that I can't do this any more. I wish I could find a printer that would accept this ink so I could do waterslide decals. I hope I am not violating any rules by posting this, but here is the website: [www.docmartins.com] .
