Prefered Minima Guide Finish?

In the M4 Minima's - has anyone noticed a difference in how the chrome finish fishes compared to the TiCh?

Or - what is your preferred finish for Minima's?

Thanks - Marc

Hi Marc,
I thought that someone who has tried both types of Minima guides would have answered your question. I have used Minima 4 guides on quite a few rods in the last few years. I typically use the Chrome/Chrome on most rods andI used the Chrome/TiGold on two rods.

Since the TiCH, Chrome, and TiGold are all finishes on the steel ring and does not affect the size of the ring, there should be very little difference in how the rod casts or fishes. There may be some very slight increase in smoothness or hardness in the TiCH or the TiGold coatings, but I seriously doubt you could tell the difference. I may be wrong, but I think the coatings are primarily cosmetic. I don't know if my comments help you, but maybe someone else may add their experiences to the discussion.

Thanks Mike! Lakes are still froze here, so I can't get out to do the testing I'd like to. I appreciate the input.

Thanks - Marc

You don't need a lake Test cast in you back yard or a field

I have built a lot of rods using both the Chrome as well as the tich finish Minima guides.

I don't believe it is possible to see, or feel, either long or short term - any difference in the guide finish.

Be safe
