I know these two usually don't go together but I have a customer who wants me to find a blank in the 6'8"-7'2" range 8-15 lb test line that he can use to throw jerks and will still work to occasionally drop shot with. Any recommendations? Re: Drop shot jerk bait blank

Pac Bay Quickline Popping - QLP843 or 844. Nice, light, fast but not too fast. Thanks - Marc Keep it simple - that's all I can handle! Re: Drop shot jerk bait blank

What you asked for sounds like the Bushido SJ728-15 from American Tackle 7'2" for 8 to 15 line, 3/8 to 3/4 baits. Re: Drop shot jerk bait blank

I'm not sure there is any conflict in the desired action between drop shot and some jerking applications. We have found tha at least on some waters the fall smallies want the action of a jerkbait that you can only get with a really fast action rod rather than the more sluggish action you get when fishing a traditional crankbait or jerkbait action. I remember some fishermen slowing down their glass rods by adding sections of rod over the tip section, about a foot down from the tip. That will get you very little response with our fall smallies when they seem to want a much faster twitch. Re: Drop shot jerk bait blank

Thanks for all the info gentleman. We are going to go with the Pacbay QLP843 recommended by Mark. I love the fly blanks, very high quality at a great price. I am sure these will be great rods. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
