Hi, im looking for a couple of 10' 2pc 6wt fly blanks or maybe a spinning blank with similar action. 10' or 10'6" moderate action, medium lite power, 6-10lb line. Do you have any suggestions? Rod will be used for flatline trolling tandem streamers for rainbows.

Hi,
CTS makes such a blank - $234 inclusive of duty from New Zealand and fees.
I absorb shipping from NZ if part of a bulk order.

I have been long lining for trout in new Hampshire and main since the early 60s . have always used 7' 6 spinning rods and fly rods the flex the glass has
can put up with the twisting and turning trout perform when they are first hooked moor so the brookie,
and soft mouths, without throwing the hook as often as stiffer rods. adds up to more catching and by a good percent.
With all the carbon products and the wanting of faster and more sensitive rods have made them incompatable with that sasific type of fishing and I have been looking for a blank for a whyle to meet the same needs.

I spent a hour and a half with the Batson guys at the show last week end and they updated me on a lot in blanks in genral.
they introduced me to there e glass rods and we poked and proded twisted and bent the rods to there breaking point so I thought, they handeled it all and they felt wonderfull.
I firmley beleve the blanks will fit this style of fishing very well
im very excited about building them and using them this spring on Gardner lake in main and lake ossipee lake in new Hampshire this spring.
I will also be doing my first spirole wrap on these two rods.

I would recommend a good look at these blanks.

The models I got are- Rain shadow, r6 & E Glass, RDR76L, 7"- 6" , 4 to 10 lb.

P.S. I use power pro depth hunter 20lb has a different couler every 20ft. and a black mark every 5ft. very accurate distance and depth control and cuts the water well., with mono leader 4-8lb depending on lures used.
Some times I place anyware from 1/8oz to 1.5oz weight at the leader connection depending on how deep I want to go witch is about 12ft max without messing up presentation.

Hope tis helps
Curt

Curtis: I've done that on a SPG601 I build as a sweet little 3wt fly rod, and it works a charm
given the price of those blanks, I recommend to buy two, and sacrifice one to make the spigot. The RDR76L isn't as cheap as a SPG, but that will warrant you won't have any issue with shaping the spigot : the geometry is identical.
