I have always setup my guide setups in the following order 12.10.8.8.8.8. Tip Top 8 because the next size always seams to be a size 7 and the only Tip Tops that I can find to follow would be a ring size 6 and that just seams a bit to small to me. I would be very interested to hear from all of you just how you setup your guide sets on you casting rods.
Please give a Example for a 6.6 or even A 7ft bass casting rod. Glenn McMurrian Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 01/24/2015 04:35PM by Glenn McMurrian. Re: Guide spacing and guide sizes

I made one search and found these XPPZT - Spin/Cast Tops (ALPS). There should be many more out there. Re: Guide spacing and guide sizes

For less than a short, stand-up tuna rod, size 6 runners would most likely be sufficient these days. That will open up lots of possibilities for tops. Test cast a 10, 6, 6, 6...and see how you like it. If you don't, 8 runners to an 8 top is not out of the ordinary. Re: Guide spacing and guide sizes

Gee, I'm using same or smaller guides on offshore salt water rods.
Where are you fishing and for what fish? Fresh water baitcasting guys are using size 2 micro guides these days. Russ in Hollywood, FL. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
