Can anyone tell me if there is a direct replacement for the 822.5 series of blanks? I've really come to favor this particular blank for dropshotting and light jigging for smallmouth. Re: Replacement for Batson ISB822.5 or XSB822.5

Jared,
Your best bet is to call or send Batson an e-mail. They are very responsive to customer calls and mail. Be safe p.s. I also like those rods for the same reason. Re: Replacement for Batson ISB822.5 or XSB822.5

Hi,
The SB 822.5 is still in the catalog. This is one of the best blanks out there for us that buck tail Fluke especially in shallow water. It is sensitive, has back bone and has handled up to 8# fluke. I am sure that you sweet water anglers like it also. Sure glad they did not eliminate the SB 822.5, the original. For the price it is unbeatable. One of my customers liked his so much that when it slipped out of his hands in 20' of water he dove in after it, the gold reel shined in the rays of the sun and in a desperate lunge down he grabbed it. Thank you, gentlemen. I will try emailing Batson. Was kinda hoping that one of the Batson guys might see the post and have an answer for all to see. I know both the RX7 and RX8 blanks were one of those blanks that the sum was much greater than the parts. Capt Neil, haven't built on the RX6 yet, but might have to now. Thank you Tiago,
I looked at the "suggested" lure weight rating and was looking for that 1/8 oz on the lower end. I imagine that the Immortal/Revelation blanks will throw it ok. I've got a Immortal walleye blank on order right now and I'm excited to build on it. Appreciate your help. And Bill, I was thinking that's a bunch of typing too! Thanks, Karry for the Revelation build info. I'll give it a whirl on my next DS rod. Re: Replacement for Batson ISB822.5 or XSB822.5

I am sick... recently I dropped my Rainshadow RX 8+ 822.5 drop shot rod into 22' of water. I had my inflatable life vest on and the rod was gone before I could get it off and reach the rod. It also had a Shamano 2500 Sustain with Sunline FC Shooter line on it that had just been installed on it. I saved GPS coordinates on the drop location and have purchased some grappling hooks from Cabela's. I am going back to see if I can retrieve that rod. I have built probably 20 +/- RX 822.5 D/S rods for customers and they all rave about them. If I can't snag it, it looks like I will be building an Eternity 2 or Immortal Drop Shot rod in the near future! Don Campbell don@sensorfishingrods.com Re: Replacement for Batson ISB822.5 or XSB822.5

Don, that is awful. I have since built a revelation for myself, but ended up selling it to a friend before I got a chance to fish it. He loves it and I'm looking for another when I get a chance to do some more personal work in the shop. Lol Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
