LED cure products are advancing at a more rapid rate now than in the past 5 years. Soon the products will be smaller and cost effective. Unfortunately now they are still "pricey" for most uses in rod building.

If any of you rodbuilders are also fly tyers, and you have not tried the UV cure products for fly heads, securing dumbell and burnt mono eyes, and positioning mono weed guards, then you are missing a great product that for these applications is not at all expensive. You use so little that a $7.50 kit lasts a long long time. There is even a flexible product that is recommended for repairing waders.
Given all this, I would not expect these products to have much of an application to rod building. They have to be on the surface in order to get exposure to the UV, and I don't see them competing with the fine wrapping epoxies we have due to cost and possible leveling problems. I checked the link and there are products better suited for fly tying and which are less expensive. Let me know if you would like more info. Edited 1 time(s).
