Does anyone know if the American Tackle Aero Comfort spinning reel seat is compatible with either the Tour Star or Winn grips, had a special request on a build using these. Wasn't sure if the diameter fit the reel seat, or if they were too big or small. Re: Aero Comfort Reel Seat with Tour Star or Winn

I did one like that a few months ago and it worked fine. mind you it's a tight fit but it fit. Actually I almost hated for that go to go out the door. I really liked it. Re: Aero Comfort Reel Seat with Tour Star or Winn

I've done a couple TourStars with 16mm Aero seats. Haven't used the Winns yet. Re: Aero Comfort Reel Seat with Tour Star or Winn

Aren't the Tour Star grips made by Winn? Why would there be a difference? Just curious. Re: Aero Comfort Reel Seat with Tour Star or Winn

The 17 mm seat fits standard 1 inch diameter rear cork or tube grips, so I bet it will fit fine. Re: Aero Comfort Reel Seat with Tour Star or Winn

Bill,
Tough to turn the reel seat, since there is little material to remove. However, any grip can be turned to easily fit, if the grip is larger than the reel seat. Be safe Re: Aero Comfort Reel Seat with Tour Star or Winn

The TourStar and Winn grips have a thin rubbery layer bonded over the EVA. You would not be able to turn them. Re: Aero Comfort Reel Seat with Tour Star or Winn

Looked at a Castaway rod with the grips, they will fit the 17 mm Aero seat. Re: Aero Comfort Reel Seat with Tour Star or Winn
