Hi,
I have installed a Fuji VSS seat with its Cork grip, and everything is glued in place. While I was planning to install an aluminium winding check where the fore grip meets the blank, I realised that the cork grip is slightly off centre (probably because I was a little bit careless in the reaming). It's not too bad but if I install the check correctly it will accentuate the off centring of the cork grip, whereas if I install the check 'in line' with the cork, then the check will appear off centre as well. Can something be done, given that the cork is already glued ? I was going to insert a small wooden shave between the cork and the blank (near the top hole) to slightly fix the off centring. Not sure whether there are any other options ? Re: Off centre VSS Fore Grip

lesson learned I hope never glue until you Dry Fit then fix any errors
I would say now it is glued put tape on the blank in front of the grip and sand it to center it Bill - willierods.com Re: Off centre VSS Fore Grip

If it is not to noticeable and not big gap between the cork and blank you can leave off the check and just do a wrap in front of the foregrip. If there is a gap the finish should draw in to it. Or you can cut off the foregrip and start over.

thanks guys. in the end I opted to remove the fore grip ... took me over an hour to rip it off slowly so as not to damage the VSS reel seat. But I think I learnt the lesson :) Re: Off centre VSS Fore Grip
