I'm looking to build for myself a 6 power flipping stick. I was wondering if anyone can give me some insight on the Phenix Recon blanks and also the Lamiglass Xp Series? I'm trying to stay in the 7'6 range do to rod locker storage.
Thanks

I prefer the Lamiglas 6 power blank for fishing out west, more versatile, the stiffer 8 power blanks were preferred by Skeeter Reese years ago when he used Lamiglas rods. I used the 8 ft. blanks even though there was quite a difference it tip weight between the finished rods over the shorter blank.
P.S. Looks like the blank I preferred is now in the Excel II lineup, still listed 6 power and the heavier 8 power of old is the XP 6 power 7 1/2 ft. and 5 power 8 ft. blanks. I still think my blank is more versatile overall and a nice flipping stick.
