Been a while since I looked into it. But if memory serves me well

Toray; is the name of the Japanese company that makes the fiber, also considered one of the better companies at making the material.

T-46 equals 46 ton graphite.
Is good quality but not really anything new when it comes to graphite cloth

Thanks for the info Steve

This is just one of those emails from some one thinking builders are Real Dumb A 239.00 blank with recoil guides Even with a discount no one could build him a rod
With him saying he had one built for 125.00 with a 100.00 blank

Lord I wonder how many other builders he has tried this with

I don't know who your customer is - I did build a T46 / K2 phenix rod with micros for a fellow in Texas and charged him $125.00 (it was more of a 'promotional' deal) -- and then he stiffed me on the $125.00. Song and dance about changing jobs; waiting for first paycheck; will mail the rod back ..... I'm just too trusting

This guys name was not Fred - Was it But then How can you Even with a discount build a rod on the K 2 that as fare as I can tell is well over 200.00 Just for the blank let alone handle-guides-seat- shipping of parts - and YOUR labor

Maybe this is me -- But I don not do this for nothing

Bill -
I did it "out of (my) pocket" -- also known as a stupid mistake. I trusted the man. Over the course of several email exchanges he told me exactly what he wanted. Rod blank; type of guides; name on the rod; color of wraps; length & type of split grip. He seemed honest (live and learn / be disappointed in people). The blank & all other components cost around $150.00. He was supposed to show the rod around his local fishing club / small tournaments etc. As far as the time invested - while it didn't take long I hear what you're saying about working for less than zero.

Ken, I think you should expose him and the club he belongs to , letting them know what lind of member they have. He should have sent the rod back to you if he couldn't pay.
