Weight difference between alconite, sic, and torzite?

Hey guys so I was wondering how much of a difference there is between each of these materials, assuming of course they are in the same guide frame. I know sic is harder than alconite, and torzite is the hardest, but do they also get lighter as the price increases? thanks!

I believe Alconite is lighter than SiC. I don't have a Ti/Alconite to weigh, but I do have like sizes of Ti/SiC and Torsite I can check.

If you wouldnt mind checking I would really appreciate it!

Also if anyone can add on about ti/alconite I would appreciate it as well.

Alconites are lighter than SIC; but not as hard. The Torzite Guides are lighter than both, harder than SIC, according to Fuji, and thinner resulting in a large ring opening for a given size. I recently built a rod with Torzite micro guides and I was amazing at how light they are. Pricey; but oh soooo sweet!!

Although the link is in Polish and the guide weights are in grams, I hope this will help somewhat:

TORZITE is not harder than SiC, but it is more resistant to impact and handles compression better which makes it "tougher" than Sic in day-to-day situations. The narrow difference in actual hardness is more than offset by the ability of TORZITE to accept a higher polish than SiC. Sic will abrade line after about 700 "sawing" strokes - TORZITE doesn't show any line wear after 3100 "sawing" strokes. The weight difference comes from the more narrow ring. TORZITE is so tough Fuji can build a thinner ring that's as strong (or stronger) than any other ring they offer.

Jim Ising,

Will you (Fuji) be publishing the guide weights for the various styles and sizes in the near future and if you do plan on doing that when do you think it will be ready for the public to see it?

THANKS SCOTT!! I get requests for weights from time to time but then I look at the task of weighing the THOUSANDS of guides we stock and I simply don't have the time to get it done. Any volunteers???
