Thanks Tim Re: PACBAY NYLON THREAD GRADE D

Yes, I had a big problem with that when I first started using it. Never had that happen before with the Gudebrod thread. Increase your thread tension considerably and that should cure the problem. Try a couple of wraps on a spare piece of rod with different tensions. Then put on CP and see if you can stop the loosening problem. And when you put on CP, don't brush it out at all. Load the brush up and just let it flow on and stop. When you've made a few passes and have the whole wrap done, just lay the brush up against the bottom of the wrap and wick any excess off. The thread seems to tighten back up as it dries. All you have to do is be able to move a guide a little bit to line it up when you're done. It you can move it, it's not too tight. I'm using Pacbay C, not D. But their threads are probably all the same. Try that and see how it works. Mac Re: PACBAY NYLON THREAD GRADE D

Thanks John.
I thought insufficient tension might be the problem. Another thing I found was about 20yards into the spool of thread there was a knot! Fortunately I had just finished a whipping when I found it. Cheers Tim Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
