Life's been crazy and I haven't built a rod since April. Next project looking to be a swimbait rod for big bassin'. Looking for something to throw swimbaits from the 2-6oz range mostly bluegill imitations in the 4-6" size range. Looking for some opinions on blanks and what would be best for this application. would like to keep blank around $100 range if possible. New to this style of fishing so doesn't need to be high end just would love some opinions from those more experienced than myself. Thanks

Been swimbauting for a few ywars now. For full disclosure, I am a Hydra prostaff builder, but they have a swimbait blank that fits yhe bull for the lures. BTSWB955, it is rated 5/8oz to 6oz. I havr thrown 6 oz on it, but the sweer spot is between 2 and 4 oz my ladt build on yhat blank came out to just under 5oz finished weight without skeletizing pieces and parts. I would also totally suggest getting some 3:16 rising son swimbaits, thry are a very good intro into swimbaiting and have a proven track record. Soft baits can turn fish where most hard baits are for active fish in my experiences.

Posted from my phone, in case there are fragrant spelling errors.. :)

Didn't smell any errors, but they could be there......

Batson makes two blanks that would fit this bill, depending if you want a MH or H rod.

Those Hydra blanks look real nice Andrew. If I get in to swimbaiting and really enjoy it will give one a shot just a bit over my budget for a method I haven't really gotten a feel for. Jimmy what model numbers are you referring to if you don't mind? Thanks
