Howdy All,

Anyone build on one of these blanks or similar? I built my buddy one first customer rod per say. So he's crappie fishing gets snagged and pow!! Guess it broke in two places and the only thing that didn't go in the drink was handle to the stripper guide. Haven't seen what's left yet. First rod I ever put my name on. So very bummed out about it.

Has anyone had any breaking issues with said blank?

Hoping Rainshadow warranty steps up we'll see.

Doesn't sound like a warranty issue to me. Sounds like he attempted to use the rod to free the snag and broke it in the process. That's user error - not warranty.

I've built several rods on that blank. never a problem. Like Alex stated. sounds like operator error.

Sounds like someone needs to learn proper care and usage of a rod to me.

I do really like the blank in question. You guys are probably spot on with operator error. As soon as he said SNAG it caught me a little strange..Just throwin it out there to see if anyone had similar problems.

Thanks

If it broke as you described it really isn't a warranty issue either.

Rick,
I always tell my customers that if they ever snag, that they open the bail, put the rod in a rod holder and grab the line with a gloved hand.

Then, do what ever you want with your gloved hand to work on freeing the line, or breaking the line.

But, by leaving the rod in a rod holder with the bail open, you have 0 chance of breaking a rod on a snag.

Also, I also suggest that if possible, that the rod never be laid down on a seat or floor, etc. Just too easy to have a bad thing happen to a rod that is lying anywhere except in a person's hand or a rod holder.

Good luck

If you send in the blank to our warranty department and explain, they can help you out.
