Pompano Rod Blanks

Looking for some pompano blank recommendations that are 13' to match an existing afaw rod. Pretty new to the fishery but wanted to stay atleast 12' in the 2-5 range for max distance when needed and for height above the weed wash. Budget is also a concern since I will be building 3 identical rods pompano specific. Have been looking at Century and CCP but blank prices are relatively high. Any recommendations for a newbie?

you could look at the Gator Pomp-13 or the gator Pomp-light-13. They are less than $100. That's the only ones I can think of in that length without going considerably more expensive. I have not used them though. Ive been building a SUR1385 but it is shorter than you are looking for. Good Luck. I'd be interested what you find as I am going to build a longer pomp rod eventually, but havent decided on what one yet.

Went to Mudhole today and looked at some blanks. The Century 1505 looks like it will fit the bill but it is quite expensive. CCP looked very thin walled for my taste. Wasnt fond of the action of the pomp or pomp light and they are 1pc so forget transporting that. Looking into some breakaway ldx factory builds to get started with, but still open to blanks if I can find some.

The breakaways are the popular rod in my area for long distance casting for pomps. they will def. put the bait out there when needed. good luck
