I need recommendations for a reasonably priced USA made composite rod blank for fishing piers on the OBX and for catfish. Need a blank that is 7 to 7.5 feet long or modified that can cast 2 ounces well and lob about 3 with bait with a strong backbone. I am looking at the CRB Composite Inshore that Mudhole has by Lamiglas, Calstar BTG series ,I believe, that has a carbon core with e glass outer, or the Seeker Hercules Inshore which is the upper of my budget. Also looking at the Rod Geeks S Glass Heavy that has USA components made in Mexico.
Thanks for your help, Dave Re: Composite rod blank for OBX pier fishing and catfish

For this exact same combination I actually use a vertical jigging spinning rod as it will cast upwards of 6 ounces and is plenty heavy enough for catfish which I have caught upwards of 40 and 50 pound blue cats on it. It has a light enough tip that I could probably catch spot and croaker with it but I mainly use it for drum and cobia from piers. This is just another idea to add to your list but certainly not your standard. Re: Composite rod blank for OBX pier fishing and catfish
