Advice for butt guide size.

Rod ultra light

Tip to center of reel seat 56.5 inches
Butt guide 20 inches from center of reel seat
Guides Minima 4- CSV4CG series
# guides 6 plus tip

I think a size 20 for the butt guide will work with a mini spin reel.

I plan to do 6-6-8-10-16-20

Comments please.

thanks

If using the mima 4, try using a size 16 or 20 match guide.

I would also omit the size 8 guide,

For the butt guide, I would rather have a taller, than a shorter guide. The taller guide keeps the line from slapping the rod during casts.

Be safe

Start with the 20, then let the line path dictate your remaining sizes and frame heights.

Start with the 20 or 16, then let the line path dictate your remaining sizes and frame heights. The best butt guide ring diameter will be decided by your line size and type.

IMO a high frame 16 is a plenty big stripper on the light, short rod you describe if you're using light line as well.
