I'm trying to do a under wrap for the first time and need to know about how you would apply the epoxy.
Would you put epoxy on after the under wrap or would you wait and put it on after you put the guide and over wrap on?
What is the process on doing this?
Any info would be helpful.

On light rods, I'd wait until after the top wrap is on to apply the epoxy. On heavier offshore type rods, I'd apply a thin coat of epoxy prior to making the top wrap.

Either way works. You'll find it a little easier to make the top wrap if the underwrap has a coat of epoxy. If you choose to over wrap without epoxy on the underwrap, it will be easier if the over wrap is in the opposite direction than the underwrap.

Obviously you're free to do whatever you want but hopefully you realize that underwraps aren't at all necessary and may be somewhat detrimental on lighter rods do to the additional weight they add.
