Just wondering if it is necessary to use CP on metallic thread. Pros and Cons? Thx!

One or two thinn coats will help to get the air out from in the thread
otherwise not necessary

Actually, it is not necessary to ever put CP on any thread.

The main reason to do it is to miimize color changes with finish application.

But, as Bill pointed out, the application of CP does help to remove air from the wrap and make for a less trouble some top finish application.

Many builders, never put CP on their rods due to color preference. They all come out great.

Your choice.

Metallic thread will not change color with or without CP. Regular thread will change dramatically in color UNLESS CP is used. With the use of CP the regular nylon thread will retain quite closely the color that you see on the spool. You can get some interesting colors on regular nylon by not using CP. For example, some reddish nylon threads will take on a very rich color quite like ripe sweet cherries when CP is not used. You can approximate the color the thread will take on by doing a test wrap and applying alcohol to the wrap. I believe, although not all agree, that the adhesion of the epoxy to the blank is better when CP is not used. Since the function of CP is to prevent penetration of the epoxy into the thread, it stands to reason that adhesion would be stronger without CP. I base my opinion on this to having removed quite a few wraps from rods, and having a lot more trouble getting the non-CP wraps off.
