I recently placed a sticker on a rod, coated it with finish as normal. Unfortunately, while flaming a nearby wrap, the sticker released from the blank under the epoxy. Obviously, I overheated the area. Anyway, I was left with a mess, and had to recoat the blank in this area with finish, with the plan of reattaching a sticker to the area. Will my sticker (holographic decal media) adhere to the finished area? Will the amine blush from the cured epoxy need to be removed before hand? Re: Amine Blush

If you have amine blush you'll need to set the rod in the sun for a few days to let that sort itself out, which it generally will. Then lightly scuff the finish surface with fine Scotchbrite, dust off with a soft brush, adhere the decal and recoat. Yes the decal should adhere to the finished area.
Generally whenever I place a decal or "sticker" on a rod blank I'll wrap over it with D thread to act as a bit of a "clamp" and allow that to sit for a few hours, then remove the clamp and recoat as normal. ................ Re: Amine Blush
