When you see butt od diameters listed .334, .408, .604 etc. How and where are they measured from, and is some listed in inches and some in mm. Also explain tip top sizes 4, 4.5 , 5.5 etc. are these sizes of tip or inside od of tip. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

When you see rod measurements, they are the diameters of the blank at the butt of the rod and at the tip of the rod.

For example .334 means .334 of an inch or a bit over 3/10th of an inch in diameter at the butt of the rod. This is the outside diameter of the rod butt.

When you see a tip measuremen tof 4, that means that the tip has an outside diameter of 4/64th of an inch. If you puirchase a #4 tube tip top with the ring size of your choice, it should fit onto the tip of the rod.

Be safe
