I am looking for a 10' 3wt fly blank that is a 2 piece, I have looked at a lot of sites but haven't come up with one yet.
Any ideas who would have one? Thanks, Rob Re: Recomendation for a 10' fly blank

Hey Herb,
Yes he does some nymphing but he also wants it to fish some bluegills too, he just asked if it was possible so the search has begun. A 3 piece is not as hard to find as a 2 piece in this size and weight. Rob Re: Recomendation for a 10' fly blank

This may work for him It does not have to be a fly blank As loog as it handles the line weight

Hey Bill,
That may be a good idea, I looked at and it may sure enough fit the bill. Quick question....any idea on lure weight versus fly line weight? or at least how to do a conversion on it. Thanks again Re: Recomendation for a 10' fly blank

One way is to put the line weight over 16 as a fraction As 3/16 This gets you in the ball part but may not be a home run If you find a blank that may fit try to see if any builders here have built as a 3 wt
Seems like it should work But Even on fly blanks if said to be a 3 wt the blank may not perform well onless with a 4 wt line Mudholes are Mod- Fast I would take that they flex about in the middle of the blank so they would be a tad softer ??? Some one here may have built and tried it ??? Bill - willierods.com Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 07/25/2014 11:42AM by bill boettcher. Re: Recomendation for a 10' fly blank

Global Dorber has them. I have no experience with any of their products, you might ask around. Greg Aptos, CA Re: Recomendation for a 10' fly blank

I have Global Dorber's 8wt(bass bug) blank and love it. There true to weight too. I tryed Rio's streamer line on it that is 1/2 wt heavier and it didn't like it at all. Put back on the 8wt line and it sings again. Haven't tryed a 7 1/2wt line or 7wt line on it yet, maybe I should give that a try. Re: Recomendation for a 10' fly blank

Thanks for the help, I did look into the Global Dorber's rods and it looks like I may give it a try cause I can not find any other 2 piece with the exception of the CTS and don't know if I want to wait that long on it. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
