Tarpon fishing

I have never tried it and I know nothing about it. With that being said, I have a potential customer who would like a price on an 8` Tarpon rod only he would like it built on a Shimano Truex blank, only with the micro wave guide system.
All I know for sure is Shimano does not sell its blanks.
Can you lead me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Bill

I do not recommend Microwave guides on a tarpon rod, unless you like to catch and release ... quickly. Double-footed heavy duty guides such as Fuji's BMNAG, MNSG or ICMNSG would be ideal.
Do you have a couple of blank manufacturers that you prefer? If so, I can point you in the right direction in respect to your blank choice.

You can also think about changing out the microwave runners to a fuji ldb type or similar and still use the system. I use a fuji tklh setup with size 6 tkt runners and have no problem with tarpon to 125.
