WOW..... ICAST starts next Wednesday right here in Orlando.

And do we have a treat for you!! Please join us for the "Future of the MicroWave Guides" Press conference on Wednesday at 12pm in the Press Room. All are invited to attend.

We will be unveiling the newest member to the Microwave family (it is not the surf/carp caster)....... This new addition will once again change the rod industry FOREVER!

At the press conference we will also be introducing many rod companies unveiling their microwave guide rods AND GIVING ALL of the Rods AWAY!! You will not believe who will be joining us to unveil his microwave rod line!! Stay tuned for more details...........

If you are going to be at ICAST please stop by booth 1829 and see the new AIR........(oops, I almost said too much)

We will also be hosting the first ever Wave Army reception on Thursday from 3-6...... I have heard there may be a keg and food ;) .....

Good luck to you guys!

One thing that confuses me is why rod building companies go to ICast? Do any custom builders attend that? Unless they are employed by tackle shops or are big time mass producers, could they even get in? I thought ICast was for tackle dealers. Always wondered why rod building companies go to ICast.

Not many custom rod builders attend ICast. However, many if not most OEM commercial rod companies either attend and/or display. For quite a few of the rod building blank and component manufacturers and distributors, however, ICast provides the best chance to network and market to these companies which can lead to business that far exceeds what they will ever do with custom rod building hobbyists.

The ICRBE remains far and away the best place to interact with large numbers of individual custom rod builders, but ICast is the best place to land the big money contracts.

Some ask why would rod builders attend? I ask why not? A few trailblazing products have come from ICAST, for example Microwave guide system. I have as of yet to see where major rod manufacturers in our region have used them on their production rods. So, for me I'm glad CRB attend. Kind of gives us a leg up on incorporating new technology before the masses find out. :-)

Not many builders attend - it's not exactly open to the public. There is a dealer aspect to it since it's a trade show, not a consumer event. Although any builder with a business license could certainly get in.

I don't remember exactly where the MicroWave guide system was introduced, it may have been ICast or the ICRBE, or even EFTEX. I don't recall.

I think there are at least two if not three OEM rod companies now incorporating the MIcroWave guide system. More are sure to follow. I think more than a few custom builders missed the sales boat it offered prior to commercially made rods offering it. Although, a few custom builders did take it up quickly and from what I understand did very, very, very well with it indeed.
