Can metallic thread be used to wrap guides? Is it just as strong as the regular nylon thread?

The wrap length should be at least twice the diameter at that point and begun as close to the female end as possible.

I'm just a beginner myself, and to solicit more comments, I either read, watch a video, or was told that you never want to wrap guides with metalic. Now I'm not trying to start something here. As a matter of fact, I've never seen a guide fully wrapped in metallic. (I know. Don't mean it can't) but as a builder I think this is important to know. What I remember, the strength of the metallic had everything to do with it.

Dwane the new HT metallics are much stronger then the older versions, they have some problems but strength isn't one of them.You can also if you don't mind a slight weight increase wrap the guides with white A regular thread apply a thin coat of finish to level the thread, the white will disapear and now you can wrap the guide with any metalic thread,the strength is in the white thread and the metallic is really just trim.
