I think it would be better to register them as the custom builder. After all, the builder will be processing any warranty returns, etc.

Great question Andrew as the MHX Transferable Limited Lifetime Warranty is the only warranty of its type in the industry. MHX blanks set a new industry standard with exclusive limited lifetime transferable warranty. Because each blank has a unique serial number, the warranty is transferable – no other blank manufacture offers this.

Each rod blank can be registered online with its individual serial number by either the custom rod builder or the end user of the rod. When registered, the blanks unique serial number identifies that rod blank to registrant. If the registrant sells or gives the rod blank or finished rod to another person, the warranty can be transferred to the new owner – an industry first!

So to directly answer your question, you can register it either way because the warranty is transferable. But to keep it simple, we recommend the custom rod builder should build the rod than register it with the end users information.

Thanks mudhole, I've been liking the MHX rods so far, I've gotten good feedback from a few serious fishermen on them.
