Hi all, I was just wondering - Pac Bay fly reel seats are, to my knowledge, aluminium with some kind of coating like nickel silver, "gold" or titanium. How does these coatings hold up to normal use - do they wear rapidly and thereby exposing the aluminium underneath ? regards Peter Re: Pacific Bay fly reel seat

Do not know about wear, but the quality is good for the price. I use them frequently. I am sure someone else can give you a long-term report. Re: Pacific Bay fly reel seat

the oldest one I have is going on only one season of heavy use. so as far as longevity I can't say, but it looks good so far, and like Elrod said, the quality vs. price is good. Re: Pacific Bay fly reel seat

As far as i know they are anodized aluminium and will wear eventually, but, should be good for many years. scratching will expose the raw aluminium. I use them frequently and am happy for the price as well. Kev. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
