Anyone have any experiences with the Titan Ring Lock guides, are these a light weight guide, like the Fuji Titanium SiC guides but the price has me looking in a different direction. Would you reccomend these Ring Lock guides, or a different set.

I like them a lot. Very lightweight, and the frame design makes them strong. They have very little negative impact on the action in the tip section of the rod because they are so lightweight.

Ditto the comments above.

Lightweight, flexible, & of course corrosion resistant.

I have them on my long distance tournament rods and a GSB 156 2M that was on display at the Hawaii Ocean Expo.

Four size 12 guides weighed three grams on my kitchen scale (accuracy?).

I put this together a year ago: [www.stripersonline.com] I have been using quite a bit of teh Amtak Titanium guides, specifically the Virtus Heavy & Lite, as well as the Turbos. A year later, adn they are still improving the guides, they are doign a better job on prepping the guide feet as was posted a week or 2 ago on this forum.

Honestly, I don't think they need to read the board to know where they could improve. I know when I spoke to them last year, that they were already working on the things I had suggested improving on. I know Darrin put a lot of time and too a lot of pride into making these guides, and I think he's done a really good job. I also happen to know they are working on a new guide style which will hopefully be ready in a few weeks, I'm looking foward to working with these even though I haven't seen them in hand yet.

Hi Brian,

You know I am going to say I love the Titan Ring Lock guides and I certainly use them. The prices are different then Fuji but you don’t sacrifice a thing. The Nanolite inserts are every bit as good as SiC and the frames offer corrosion protection, lighter weight, flexibility, and design features that enhance durability and function. We also have a complete guide series ranging from fresh-water, inshore, to heavy salt-water applications with more coming soon.

Bill we certainly do read the boards and Billy thank you for your kind words. Joe, Chase and I employ a collaborative effort in design that includes comments and requests from anybody that will talk to us (and some that won’t). We have many ideas for the improvement and development of new products however, being a small company we can’t do it all at once. Economics and time dictate the part evolution but market acceptance is vital and we can’t do it without input from builder’s so thank you all for your comments and support.

The new guides will be coming soon and we’ll announce them as they arrive, so stay tuned.

Best Regards,

Darrin Heim

How about tops to match the titanium virtus nanolite heavy guides?
