Determining ERN

I've got a 6' Berkley Lightnin Rod MH that a customer wants me to modify. I want to look at the CC numbers so I can see what effect my mods will have. So, I want to get my numbers prior to mod and then after the mod. I've firmly supported the rod 7" (no more than 10% of length) from the butt to the forward most support and level on at least the first 12 inches beyond the handle. I need to deflect the tip 24" (1/3 of length). I measure 62.5 inches floor to center of blank in front of the forward support so I need to deflect it to 38.5 off the floor (62.5 - 24 = 38.5). It takes 219 pennies (shiney and minted after the year 2000) to deflect that blank 24". The Rosetta Stone in the recent RM magazine only goes up to 173. Have I done something wrong or did the article stop at 173 for the sake of brevity? Can I calculate the ERN through a formula or is there a continuance of the chart elsewhere? Lastly, for those that have done this before with this particular blank, does this sound similar to your figures? I know it won't be exact.
Thanks, Greg Marshall Re: Determining ERN

The expanded chart in the Universal Rod Rating System takes you up through something like 300 pennies. That would put your ERN at just over 19.

Tom,
Where can I find the expanded chart? Is it in one of my RodMaker magazines? Re: Determining ERN
