trying to search on 27X

No results? that can't be right - i can see a thread on the main page right now that has "27X" right in the title. I've tried any words, all words, exact phrase made sure to specify all date ranges and various combinations of "27X"... nada. I remember reading the original post but wanted to refresh my memory - if anyone has it bookmarked - please link me.

Regards,
-Justin

Justin,
I had the same exact problem not too long ago. Try New Guide Concept and other phrase derivatives.
For some reason that search does not work.
I tried 27, 27X, 27 X, 27x, and nothing. Stranger than friction. Good luck

The article is in RodMaker Magazine. Only bits and pieces exist on the forum and elsewhere on the internet.

Tom,

Which issue is that in and how do can we get a copy. I'm in the same boat (pun intended) and a litte confused on the 27x method. I was measuring my spool diameter and then got to thinking. Do I measure the inner diameter (no line) or outer diameter (full of line).
I also had heard from a reputable source that a rule of thumb was 1/2 the spool diameter for the first guide. Again the same question applies, inner or outer diameter?

Forgive us newbies for all the questions, but we just don't know.

BTW, Tom, I just got your book in the mail today and was thumbing through it at lunch. I can't wait to sit down and read it tonight.

It's in volume 10 #4.

The outer diameter of the spool is what the line must contend with as it flows out and over the spool lip. Thus, that is the important part when taking the measurements.

Thank you Tom. I thought that was the case, but in my mind it's better to ask first than suffer the consequeces.

I let my subscription lapse, regretted it and now am back on. I puchased the magazine on the 27X that Tom mentioned. Well worth it and recommend that issue.

Type in "choker guide" in the search. Lots to read concerning 27X.
